Stephen Bennett is a Los Angeles based composer from Slidell, Louisiana. Soon after moving to Los Angeles he was selected to participate in the Society of Composers and Lyricists 2018 Mentorship program. In 2019 he was a finalist for the ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop and was selected to participate in the Los Angeles Film Conducting Intensive (created by David Newman) under the tutelage of Angel Velez. He currently assists ASCAP award winning composer, Didier Lean Rachou. Stephen received a bachelor of music in music theory and composition from the University of Louisiana at Monroe under Dr. Mel Mobley. Stephen was very active in the ULM concert and chamber choirs and was also a member of the ULM guitar ensemble under the direction of Daniel Sumner. He has written original pieces for orchestra, solo voice, piano, choir, and smaller instrumental ensembles and has had music used on CBS, ABC, TLC, and The History Channel. Stephen won awards in both 2015 and 2016 at the California Independent Film Festival for the Film Scoring Competition.
